“Social and Emotional Learning is a process for helping children and even adults develop the fundamental skills for life effectiveness. It teaches the skills we all need to handle ourselves, our relationships, and our work, effectively and ethically.” – CASEL
- what is social and emotional learning?
- Social and Emotional Learning is considered the ‘missing piece’ in education. It complements academic learning to take into account the ‘whole’ student – addressing the social, emotional and inter-relational factors that unleash human potential in all walks of life.
- Social and Emotional Learning develops the basic competencies to manage emotions and behavior, and to build care and concern for others. Mastering those skills gives individuals both short-term and long-term advantages related to their personal well-being, performance and success.
